The next day when Candy stood behind the counter making cotton candy, he had a smile on his face that told the world he had a secret. Although he still felt a very delicious forbidden feeling when he thought of him and Roy being together, he didn’t feel quite so dirty as he did when he had been with Frankie. He didn’t know why except to say that maybe his intuition was telling him that Frankie wasn’t the kind of man he needed to get mixed up with.

Later, when Candy was helping one of his customers, he looked up and saw a cop standing nearby watching him. His dark clothes, his dark hair, and his beautiful five o’clock shadow made him mysterious looking. Although his hair was short, it slightly dragged his collar, and it was full of rebellious waves that constantly fell down over his forehead. It gave his hair a sexy, disheveled look. Candy noticed his gun, his badge, and the way he looked in his clothes. He was so damned hot. Hot enough to be a movie star, or even a male model.

And then Candy caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror in back of him.

He’d always thought he was an all-right-looking guy, but compared to Roy McCaslin, he looked like his ugly younger brother. How the hell did a cowboy that rode bulls and was dusty and dirty most of the time wind up with a man like Roy?
